[He doesn't know much about where they live, but Ayato is concerned that if Teresa came after him, she'd absolutely go after the two of them too.]

Teresa showed up at my home recently- I wanted to make sure the both of you haven't run into her.

Ash has run into her while he was out, but we're both currently somewhere safe. I've been laying low, and wearing something that obscures my identity if I have to go out.

[Fuck. He'd hoped that this was a one-off case and she had personally only come for him. Seems she had other people in mind as well.]

She hasn't done anything to him, has she?

[A beat, and he sighs.]

She came to my home. I will admit I was not the most pleasant when coming out to greet her, but I also was not expecting her to be so reckless as to simply walk into the estate grounds.

Good. I was concerned she had targeted specific people to go after- I'm glad to hear that wasn't the case.

Unfortunately, she most certainly planned to come find me. Teresa threatened me with the knowledge of Yae being here, and then that my life belongs to the Order.

I wouldn't put it past her, admittedly. It's just this specifically was more opportunistic.

[There's a sharp sound at Ayato's next words--a loud thump, followed by some hissed swears in Italian.]

It doesn't. I don't care what the Order says. It doesn't and it never will.

[The reaction and the words startle him, but Ayato can't help but smile as he listens.]
